A different way to read the Bible: less like a reference book, more like a story. It’s a new way to talk about the Bible.
Community Bible Experience is a simple but revolutionary idea: what if we gave people a Bible and invited them to read a whole section of the Bible all the way through, reading whole books, not just bits and pieces? Through Community Bible Experience, you can go beyond reading the Bible in fragments and in isolation. By reading through whole books and large sections of the Bible, you’ll have a more complete picture of God’s great story and your part in it.
The Books of the Bible is a fresh yet ancient presentation of Scripture, using the full NIV text. Eliminating many distractions, this Bible allows you to experience Scripture the way its authors originally intended. Chapter and verse numbers, study notes, cross references, footnotes and red letters have been removed and natural section breaks have been restored. The Books of the Bible are arranged in an order that helps you see the unfolding drama more easily. Book introductions are included to prepare you for a more in–depth reading experience. The Bible text is presented in a clear single–column format and an easy–to–read font size. The New International Version (NIV) is an accurate, readable and clear translation with the goal of delivering the same Bible reading experience today that the first recipients of Scripture would have had in their native languages.
Gather your church, your small group, or even a few friends—and commit to reading a section of the Bible together using one of the Community Bible Experience books and 8 or 16 week reading plans. Each week, you’ll meet in small groups to discuss what you’re reading. These gatherings are designed to feel more like a book club than a traditional Bible study. They’re an opportunity to share how God’s story is impacting you—what inspires, surprises, puzzles, or challenges you. There’s no advance preparation required for participants or small group leaders, other than keeping up with each day’s reading and coming prepared to answer five simple questions.
Gather together your group, and choose where you want to begin, selecting the portion of the Bible and reading plan that’s right for you.
