Nigel is a Chartered Accountant with more than 20 years experience working for companies in the real estate sector. He is currently Finance Director of Marick Real Estate. Nigel joined the Biblica Board in 2011, and enjoys being part of such an inspirational organisation with a clear heart to spread the Gospel and help people read and understand the Bible. Nigel lives and works in London, where he attends an Anglican church in the south of the city.
Bishop Ken Good
Since his ordination Ken has served as a Church of Ireland rector and as a Secondary School teacher and chaplain. He has been Bishop of Derry and Raphoe since 2002. Having used the NIV throughout his ministry, he was very willing to join the Board of Biblica when invited to do so in 2013. He is very committed to bible translation and distribution, as well as to making the scriptures accessible in Ireland and elsewhere.
Damon is Partner in the Strategy & Leadership division of Digital Works Group, a boutique Digital Transformation Consultancy. Prior to that he was Director of Operations & Billing for the TalkTalk Consumer division with responsibility for Supply Chain & Logistics, Provisioning, Billing, Collections & Fraud. He had a number of senior roles with Dixons Carphone and, latterly, TalkTalk Group and has specialised in transformation of operational performance and efficiency. Damon is married to Theresa and lives in Hemel Hempstead with their four boys! He is actively involved in South Hill Church where he is part of the youth work leadership team.
Gareth Russell is Director at Jersey Road PR and has served on the Board since 2012. The company works with charities and issue based organisations to help shape their communications and engage with media. Jersey Road PR has particular expertise in working with faith–based charities, equipping them with the knowledge and tools to tell their story better. Gareth is married to Andi and lives in Stony Stratford. He is passionate about helping people release the potential of the Bible and see the word of God influencing every aspect of their lives.
Elaine is the Chief Executive of the Scottish Bible Society. Elaine is not only enthusiastic about people having a Bible in their own language, also in helping people understand it and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ through it. Elaine’s previous employment was with Scripture Union Scotland (11 years) and the Universities and Colleges Christian Fellowship (14 years). She has a degree in Behavioural Sciences (psychology) and worked for 18 months in a psychiatric unit. Elaine is originally from Cumbria. She now lives in Glasgow, works in Edinburgh and supports the Scottish rugby team!
Gillian has been quietly observing the ministry of Biblica for many years as her husband Michael has been serving as a global board member of Biblica. She is excited to be part of the Biblica Europe board spreading the message of Christ’s love by bringing Scripture in contemporary languages to so many people. Gillian has had two recent mission trips to northern Uganda, including distributing “Dear Theo” to school children. Qualified as a solicitor in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Gillian has four sons, two dogs, four urban hens and she tutors saxophone for a local music charity. She is involved in hospitality ministry in Fitzroy church in south Belfast. Gillian loves cooking, music, drama, art and crafting – especially when her skills can be used in worship of God and in revealing the beauty of his Kingdom to those around her.
Senior Vice President for Translation
Stephen oversees all of Biblica’s translation, Bible and resource publishing, and digital innovation. He joined the team in 2011 as Area Executive Director for Europe and was appointed to a global role in 2015. Prior to Biblica, he served with the Evangelical Alliance UK for 10 years, serving first as Northern Ireland Director, then leading the UK Public Theology work, and also the Vice President for the European Evangelical Alliance. Previously, he had been senior pastor of a Baptist church in Ireland. His passion in ministry has always been to see people engage better with the Bible and understand it as God still speaking today, not just “way back then.”
He has degrees in Philosophy & Politics, and also in theology, as well as a post–graduate degree in education, all earned from Queen’s University Belfast.
Vice President for Europe and the Middle East
Mark grew up in the deprived East End of London, where he saw first–hand the transformational power of God in the lives of many lost and hopeless people. He is passionate about building strong teams and partnerships that change the lives of marginalized and vulnerable people, through breaking down barriers to God’s Word to introduce people to Jesus.
Mark joined Biblica in 2011 after leadership roles in publishing at Inter–Varsity Press, Authentic Media and Paternoster. His vision is to inspire Christians to use their God–given creativity to revolutionize the world for Jesus through sharing the Bible with those who have never encountered Jesus. Mark leads Biblica’s gifted teams working with partners in Europe, Central Asia, Middle East and North Africa.
Mark lives in Penrith with his wife and family, where he attends Penrith Methodist Church.
Senior Director of Global Translation
Ioan has worked in partnership with Biblica since 2000 on various translation projects but officially joined the Biblica team in January 2017 as European Area Translations Manager. He was appointed Senior Director of Global Translation in October 2019 to lead and support the Translation Department, and to provide strategic oversight of the translation workflow. Ioan lives in Cheshire, with his wife Mirela and their children Lucas, Lois and Matias. He worships at Upton Baptist Church.
Val joined the team in July 2016 in the role of Finance Manager. Originally from Northern Ireland, Val spent time working in Scotland and England having qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Val is enjoying now living in Portrush, five miles from the Giant’s Causeway. She enjoys using her regular commute to Belfast on the train to catch up on reading and sermons!
Nicola joined Biblica in June 2012 in the role of Finance Administrator. This involves raising invoices, processing donations and making sure our suppliers are paid on time, as well as dealing with customer queries and general office administration. Nicola lives in Bangor with her husband Andy and daughters Aliyah and Sophia, and attends Hamilton Road Presbyterian Church.
Finance Administrator (Temp)
Roy is married to Isobel and both of their children are married. They have five grandchildren (4 boys and 1 girl) with two of the boys in second stage education. Roy was formerly a Youth Worker for Baptist Union of Ireland; spent 19 years as Ireland Director for SIM (Serving in Mission); and more recently served as Associate Pastor in Windsor Baptist Church, Belfast from where he retired in 2015. They recently changed their local church affiliation to Ballycrochan Baptist in Bangor.
European Partnerships Manager
Oli joined Biblica in February 2016 in the role of European Partnerships Manager. His role involves facilitating the growth of Biblica’s translation, publishing and ministry partnerships across mainland Europe. By increasing and developing partnerships with ministry organisations, publishers and churches we can better resource mission work across the region. Oli lives with his wife and son in the north of England where they serve their local church.
UK Partnerships Manager
Trevor joined the Biblica team in February 2016 and works in the role of UK Programmes Coordinator. His role involves developing and promoting programmes, such as Community Bible Experience, across the UK and Ireland and providing support to churches and organisations participating in CBE. Trevor is married to Katie and they have two daughters – Niamh and Anabeth. They live in Belfast and are members of Belfast City Vineyard where Katie works as the Kid’s Pastor and they are both involved in the Pastoral Care Team.
Operations and Communications Manager
Catherine joined Biblica in March 2013 and works in the role of Operations and Communications Manager. This involves overseeing and co–ordinating operations and administration, and also co–ordinating our communications and marketing. Catherine lives in Newtownards with her husband Bobby and Cocker Spaniel called Jake, and attends Scrabo Hall.
Joanne joined Biblica in January 2017. Her role as Team Administrator involves assisting with travel arrangements, meetings and with the daily running of the office.
Joanne originally from Dublin now lives in Carryduff. She is married to David and together they worship at Saintfield Road Presbyterian Church.
